Greetings FOG Members,

It's almost that time again; only 5 weeks until the Annual Frio River Clean-up!  The 2017 event will be held on Saturday, September 9.  However, some of our members make a weekend out of it and choose to clean on Friday and Saturday.  The Team Leader for FOG is Scott Davis, a FOG Board Member, and he will coordinate the different areas to be cleaned.
Here is some good news....the County of Uvalde has sponsored nonprofit organizations to clean the Frio throughout the summer so the river has less trash.  But there is always more (sigh!), plus the banks of the river need some cleaning.
To reserve your spot in the park, contact Chuck Wilks, President of FOG, at  Be sure and tell him you are coming in to clean the river so the camping fees are waived.
And remember, the Friends of the Frio organization that sponsors the Annual River Trash Bash will be feeding all the volunteers with delicious BBQ, beans, potato salad, and condiments.  The Leakey Lions Club makes all the homemade desserts and provides tea and water.
The FOG Board of Directors thank you for your membership; and we especially thank you for your time and labor to keep our Frio River beautiful.
Hope to see you September 9!
Pat Walzel
FOG Board Member
